Your MPF Annual Benefit Statement: Why You Need It and Where to Find It

27 March 2026

MPF members, listen up! Have you heard of the Annual Benefit Statement (ABS)? It might not have the snazziest title, but trust us, you don’t want to ignore this important document.

With the big switch to the eMPF platform, you might feel a bit lost when trying to find your information. But that’s the beauty of the new eMPF system—it centralises and simplifies the administration for all MPF schemes. Your ABS will now be available for download directly from the eMPF web portal or app. While some terms on the ABS might look a little different, the new, standardised layout is designed to be easy to follow.

Each trustee prepares ABS once a year, within three months after respective scheme’s financial year-end. If you have MPF accounts with more than one scheme, there will be a separate ABS for each trustee. (Not sure when your scheme’s financial end date is? You can find this under “Registered MPF Schemes and Constituent Funds” on the MPFA website).

To download your ABS, simply log in to the eMPF platform, navigate to “My Account,” and select “My Letter and Statement.” From there, filter by “Annual Benefit Statement,” choose the one you want, and download it. Easy! The platform even provides a step-by-step guide and an explanation of how to read your statement which you can read here:

Think of your ABS as a comprehensive health check for your retirement savings. It gives you a complete snapshot of your MPF account, including:

  • Account movements and total contributions
  • Summary of investment return since account inception
  • Breakdown of balances by fund and contribution source
  • Fees and charges deducted
  • And more!

Just like you check your bank statements to keep your finances in order, you should review your ABS to see how your retirement funds are performing. Your MPF isn’t just a passive account—it’s a powerful tool you can actively manage. Reviewing your ABS puts you back in the driver’s seat of your retirement journey.

This is why it’s great to see schemes like Manulife—winner of the Best Education Experience Award at The 2026 MPF Awards—— taking MPF education further. Beyond encouraging eMPF registration, Manulife supports members with easy‑to‑access videos, articles and webinars, along with regular reminders to help them stay on top of their MPF. This proactive approach to account management is key to securing your financial future.

Looking for statements issued before your scheme moved to the eMPF platform?

For example, Manulife MPF members can still access statements issued before 6 November 2025 on the Manulife website or mobile app, but only for 13 months from their issue date.

Be sure to check with your provider about accessing historical documents, as all new statements will be issued via the eMPF platform.

Haven’t registered for eMPF yet? Now is the perfect time. Take control of your retirement planning, make use of the available resources, and see exactly where your money is going.
