ACT ONE
[Camera focused on son]
Son appears and sounds a little anxious as he phones his father from his university dormitory
SON
“Hey Dad, you got a minute?”
FATHER
“Yep, what’s up?”
SON
“Just wondered if your company has paid my invoice for the work I did? The money hasn’t landed in my account.”
FATHER
“Yep, as soon as you sent it. Deposited into HSBC 040-26XXXX-XXX. Oh and at this point a thank you would be appreciated!”
SON
“Dad, dad, how many times have I told you not to use that account? I like to keep all my finances in one place, multiple accounts means multiple paperwork and makes it hard to track and manage my savings and investments.”
FATHER
“Geez you sound like my MPF advisor, she’s always on me about consolidating my MPF accounts and gives me the same reason.”
SON
“Well she’s right. How can you keep track of your retirement savings if it’s all over the place?
[Camera switches to father, still on the phone and lost for words, but his embarrassed facial expression says it all…..he knows his son is right]
