ACT ONE
Son walks into the living room where mom, holding six boxes of shoes from her shopping trip, and dad are having an argument over who is better with money, men or women?
SON
“Whoa, whoa, whoa…..what’s going on here!?”
DAD
“Your mom thinks women are better with money than men.”
MUM
“Women are more cautious investors, pay off mortgages faster and are better savers.”
DAD
“But women are impulsive with money.”
[Dad says pointing at the box shoes]
“You won’t find me spontaneously buying shoes I don’t need.”
MOM
“Don’t need? Don’t need? What would men know about money? I’ll have you know, these shoes were on sale and they make me happy. Everyone needs happiness in their lives.”
SON
“Good point mom.”
DAD
“….but money doesn’t buy happiness…”
SON
“Good point dad.”
MOM
“Well if you think money doesn’t buy happiness you clearly shop at the wrong places!”
[Mom walks off leaving Dad speechless and picking up boxes of shoes]
SON
“Boom! Good point mom. I think that’s game, set and match dad.”
[Focus camera on son smiling with dad picking up shoes in the background as mom walks off set]
