Fidelity crowned MPF Ratings Scheme of the Year – Sun Life and Manulife take out inaugural Choice Awards.

MPF Ratings last night announced the winners of the MPF Awards which recognise excellence in the MPF industry. The winners were announced at the industry’s leading awards ceremony at a gala dinner in front of almost 200 guests.

Fidelity was the big winner, taking home the coveted Scheme of the Year for the fourth time in six years while Sun Life won the inaugural Employer’s Choice award with Manulife securing the MPF People’s Choice award.

“The MPF Ratings awards are about recognizing those MPF schemes that have gone above and beyond in delivering value and servicing the retirement objectives of their members.” said MPF Ratings Chairman, Francis Chung.

“We would like to congratulate the team at Fidelity for taking home the Scheme of the Year award. Although it was an incredibly close race between Fidelity, Sun Life, BEA and the other finalists, this year Fidelity has clearly demonstrated their commitment to member value across a range of criteria including investment performance, fees, member services and scheme governance.”

In other key awards, Sun Life won the externally voted Employers’ Choice award which was constructed by MPF Ratings in conjunction with the Employers’ Federation of Hong Kong. More than 150 employer groups responded to the survey which provided some staggering results including that more than 85% of employers believe MPF Schemes should be providing financial advice and that 45% being positive about this advice being delivered digitally. “Sun Life was a very worthy winner for its focus on employer servicing, features and benefits.” commented Mr Chung.

The MPF Ratings’ People’s Choice award was designed with NEXT MAGAZINE with voting reaching 200,000 facebook users and more than 800,000 app and mobile site users. Manulife was a resounding winner securing more than 40% of the voting as the people’s choice of MPF. Mr Chung commented, “Manulife’s strong features, solid performance and customer service focus is clearly resonating with its audience who appear to be well engaged with their MPF and aware of their MPF provider.”
